On September 26, Russia’s Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Patrushev visited the World Food India 2025 Exhibition in New Delhi, touring the venue and interacting with Russian producers presenting their products.

Highlighting Russia’s role in the global agricultural market, Mr. Patrushev noted, “Russia remains one of the key suppliers of agricultural products to the global market. This is our contribution to strengthening global food security. India is our leading trade partner in the agricultural sector. In 2024, trade turnover between our countries increased by 12%. In 2025, Russia reaffirmed its position as the largest supplier of sunflower oil to the Indian market. I expect that the exhibition will help establish new and sustainable business ties between Russian and Indian companies.”

During his visit, the Deputy Prime Minister met with India’s Minister of Food Processing Industries, Chirag Ram Vilas Paswan. He emphasized Russia’s interest in further deepening cooperation and stressed that Russian participation in the exhibition could pave the way for new joint projects.

Mr. Patrushev also visited the Russian national stand, where 16 Russian exporting companies representing major agribusiness sectors are showcasing their products, including grains, edible oils and fats, meat, dairy, confectionery, ready-to-eat foods, beverages, and seafood. In total, more than 30 Russian companies are participating in this business mission, underscoring the strong and growing trade ties between Russia and India.
