AMU’s University Polytechnic Hosts Workshop on Internet of Things to Foster Innovation and Technical Skills

Aligarh, November 4: The University Polytechnic, Aligarh Muslim University (AMU), in collaboration with Few Drop Organization, organized a one-day workshop on the Internet of Things (IoT) aimed at introducing students to emerging technologies and their practical applications across various sectors.

Addressing the inaugural session, Prof. Mohammad Mohsin Khan, Officiating Vice Chancellor, AMU, highlighted the growing significance of IoT in today’s technology-driven world. He emphasized the need for students to embrace state-of-the-art technologies and underscored the vast potential of IoT across diverse sectors such as healthcare, automotive, agriculture, smart cities, and industrial automation.

In his remarks, Prof. Mujib Ahmad Ansari, Principal, University Polytechnic, noted that IoT is not confined to software development alone but represents a convergence of electrical, mechanical, and computer engineering. He encouraged students to develop problem-solving skills to design smart, automated systems that enhance efficiency and transform industries. “The future belongs to connected devices,” he said, “and as engineers, you will be the architects of that future.”

Dr. Mohammad Kafi, Associate Professor, Civil Engineering Section, and Dr. Mohd. Mohsin Khan, Associate Professor, Mechanical Engineering Section, attended the workshop as Special Guests.

The technical sessions were conducted by Er. Ansari Abdullah and Er. Afaque Ahmad from AMU, along with Er. Mukarram Hasan from Tech Mahindra Ltd., who served as the resource persons and technical experts.
