ALIGARH, A free health check-up camp for women was organized by the Department of NiswanwaQabalat, Faculty of Unani Medicine, Aligarh Muslim University, at Women’s College to commemorate International Women’s Day.
The camp was inaugurated by Prof. Masood A. Alvi, Principal of Women’s College, who appreciated the initiative aimed at promoting women’s health awareness and providing accessible healthcare services. He emphasized the importance of preventive healthcare and regular screening for better health outcomes.

Prof. Suboohi Mustafa, Chairperson of the Department of NiswanwaQabalat, said the camp was organized to promote awareness about women’s health and encourage early diagnosis and preventive care for common gynecological and lifestyle-related conditions. She noted that such initiatives help in reaching out to the community and addressing issues like PCOD, endometriosis, and other health concerns among women.
The programme was coordinated by Dr. Fahmeeda Zeenat, who highlighted that the objective of the camp was to provide accessible health screening and counselling services while sensitizing women about maintaining a healthy lifestyle and seeking timely medical consultation.

More than 250 female patients benefited from the camp, where consultations were provided for gynecological and lifestyle-related health issues. The services included gynecological check-ups, blood pressure screening, BMI assessment, blood sugar testing, haemoglobin estimation, and screening for anemia, obesity, and diabetes. Free medicines were also distributed to the beneficiaries.
Among those present were Prof. Vibha Sharma, Member In-Charge, Public Relations Office, and Dr. Faiza Abbasi, Director, UGC-MMTTC, AMU, along with faculty members and postgraduate scholars of the department.
