Born in Srinagar and raised in a family passionate about motorsport, Atiqa’s introduction to racing came naturally. Her father, Asif Nazir Mir, is a former national karting champion, and it was under his guidance that she first developed a love for speed and competition. Atiqa started competitive karting in the United Arab Emirates at the age of six and quickly established herself as one of the most promising young racers in the region. In 2024, Atiqa became the first Indian female racer to qualify for the finals of the prestigious Rotax Euro Trophy in South Garda, Italy. Later that year, she created history by becoming the first female driver to win a race at the Rotax Max Challenge International Trophy (RMCIT) in Le Mans, France. Another significant milestone came when she became the only Asian driver selected for the renowned Iron Dames Young Talent Programme, an initiative dedicated to promoting female participation in motorsport. Racing in the highly competitive OK-N Junior category against older and experienced drivers, Atiqa swept the entire weekend by securing pole position, winning all qualifying heats, and capturing the final race in commanding fashion. She became only the third driver in the history of the series to achieve such a clean sweep. Her victory in Greece was particularly emotional.
