Russia, India Discuss Expanding Cultural Ties Ahead of 80th Anniversary of Diplomatic Relations

New Delhi, Russian Ambassador to India Denis Alipov met with Director General of the Indian Council for Cultural Relations, K. Nandini Singla, on June 9 to discuss avenues for strengthening cultural cooperation and advancing joint humanitarian initiatives between the two countries.

During the meeting, both sides reviewed promising areas of Russia–India cultural engagement and explored opportunities for implementing collaborative projects in the cultural, educational, and humanitarian spheres.

Singla shared her impressions from a recent visit to Russia and highlighted the unique atmosphere of the Festival of Indian Culture held in Elista, Kalmykia.

A key focus of the discussions was the preparation of joint commemorative events for the 80th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Russia and India, which will be celebrated in 2027.

The two sides reaffirmed their commitment to further expanding bilateral cultural, educational, and humanitarian exchanges, underscoring the importance of people-to-people connections in strengthening the longstanding partnership between the two nations.
