New Delhi, The Russian House in New Delhi hosted the “Candle of Memory” memorial event on June 22 to mark the Day of Remembrance and Sorrow, honoring those who lost their lives during the Great Patriotic War.
The commemorative event brought together students of the Russian language, local university students, members of the public, compatriots, and representatives of the Russian Embassy.

As part of the program, participants lit candles in memory of the fallen and attended a screening of the feature film Brest Fortress, depicting the heroic defense of the fortress during the opening days of the war.
The cultural center also showcased a photo exhibition titled “22.06.1941: Tragedy. Courage. Heroism,” prepared in collaboration with the “Brest Hero-Fortress” Memorial Complex. The exhibition highlighted the tragic events and acts of courage that marked the first days of the Great Patriotic War.
