France has added two significant cultural and historical landmarks to the UNESCO World Heritage List—the Normandy D-Day Landing Beaches and the Royal Fortresses of Languedoc.
The recognition highlights two distinct chapters of French history, from the historic Allied landings of World War II in Normandy to the remarkable military architecture and heritage of the Royal Fortresses of Languedoc.
