Ludhiana/Jalandhar: The UK has stepped up efforts to raise awareness about visa fraud and protect prospective applicants from financial exploitation, debt and other risks.
As part of the ‘Visa Fraud Ton Bacho’ campaign, awareness programmes were held in Ludhiana and Jalandhar, bringing together students, young people and community leaders to discuss common warning signs of visa fraud.
The campaign focused on helping people identify misleading claims and understand the importance of relying on accurate and authoritative information when applying for a UK visa.
Visa fraud can leave individuals facing significant and unnecessary debt while also exposing them to the risk of exploitation and physical harm. Through direct engagement with local communities, the campaign aims to ensure that prospective applicants are better informed before making important decisions about their future.
The UK also reiterated that trustworthy guidance is available to applicants and encouraged people to use reliable sources of information rather than falling prey to individuals who seek to exploit their aspirations.
