Aligarh, September 22: The KA Nizami Centre for Quranic Studies, Aligarh Muslim University (AMU), in collaboration with Writers’ Cafeteria, organized the Literary and Cultural Conclave 2026 on September 19–20 at AMU, focusing on the theme “Fundamentals of Health & Hygiene.” The two-day conclave highlighted the importance of health, hygiene, and well-being while providing students a vibrant platform for intellectual and creative expression.
The conclave featured six sessions, including inaugural and valedictory sessions, along with student-centered competitions in English and Urdu speech, quiz, poster-making, calligraphy, self-composed poetry, and bait-bazi.
Prof. Mohammad Gulrez, former Vice-Chancellor, AMU, was the Chief Guest at the inaugural session, while Prof. Aasim Zafar was the Special Guest. Interacting with students, Prof. Gulrez discussed issues concerning health and hygiene and stressed the importance of awareness and responsible habits among young people.
The valedictory session was graced by Prof. Naima Khatoon, Vice-Chancellor, AMU, as Chief Guest; Prof. Mohsin Khan, Pro Vice-Chancellor, as Special Guest; and Prof. Mohammad Naved Khan, Proctor, AMU, as Guest of Honour. Prof. Naima Khatoon expressed concern over issues related to student health and assured all possible support and efforts in this direction.
Several distinguished faculty members enriched the conclave through their participation, including Prof. Zehra Mohsin, Prof. Asmer Beg, Prof. Afifullah Khan, Prof. Mohibul Haque, Prof. Moinuddin, Prof. Mohammad Akram, Prof. Riyaz Ahmad, Prof. Aysha Munira, Prof. Ashhar Qadeer, Dr. Shariq Aqil, Dr. Ahmad Mujtaba, Dr. Jameel Ahmad, Dr. Shamayal Rabbani, Dr. Abeeha Ahmad Khan, Dr. Faiza Abbasi, Dr. Qamar Alam, and Dr. Raihan Akhtar.
The dignitaries appreciated the K A Nizami Centre and Writers’ Cafeteria for bringing together literary, cultural, and academic activities around the meaningful theme of student well-being.
The conclave concluded with active participation from students, faculty, and the university community, promoting dialogue, creativity, and awareness about healthy living.
