In an open letter to members of Parliament, BfJP wrote about three Israeli companies, Elbit Systems, Israel Aerospace Industries and Raphael Advanced Defense Systems, and their collaborations and links with nine Bengaluru-based companies. All nine companies provide Israel with critical components of weapons and defense technology.
The letter sharply criticized the companies for being complicit in the genocide of Palestinians in Gaza and Israel’s war crimes in other occupied Palestinian territories. Most of the companies listed by BfJP are those that were a part of the report by WorkersinPalestine, a global civil society alliance calling for a boycott of Israel. Ace Inotec Manufacturing Private Limited (AIMPL), Alpha Design Technologies Private Limited (ADTPL), Alpha-Elsec Aerospace Systems, Amphenol Interconnect India Pvt Ltd and Amphetronix Offset Interconnect Solutions Pvt Ltd, DCX Systems Limited, Defsys Solutions Pvt. Ltd., Indo-MIM Pvt. Ltd., SASMOS HET Technologies Ltd. and Wave Mechanics Private Limited.
“It is in this context that we warn you that India’s long-standing legacy of solidarity with the Palestinian people—rooted in our own anti-colonial struggle—now stands in grave danger of being irreversibly betrayed”, the letter states, appealing to MPs to call for an arms embargo on Israel. The letter also claims that reading Article 51 of the Indian constitution, along with the Genocide Convention and other internal legal frameworks, provides substantial evidence that action must be taken to increase corporate accountability.
