On August 8, Extra Cinema, a Russian company based in Yakutia that specializes in digital platforms for film distribution, met with representatives from the Russian Embassy and Trade Mission in India.

Aleksandr Irintseev and Andrey Rufov, representatives of the company, gave presentations about their work in Russia and talked about prospects for growth in the Asian market. In order to guarantee access to contemporary movie screenings in isolated areas, discussions centered on cooperative initiatives to establish movie theater networks in smaller Indian towns.

The first milestone of this partnership will be reached in August 2025 when movie theaters using Yakutia’s successful model are opened in Tripura, India.

Yusuf Shaikh, director of Yen Movie Studios and co-founder of Janta Cinema, was also present at the meeting, which increased the likelihood of cross-border entertainment and cultural exchange.
