New Delhi, August 28, 2025 – The Faculty of Education, Jamia Millia Islamia (JMI), organized a one-day orientation program for newly admitted students of the academic session 2025–26 on August 27, 2025, at the Auditorium of the Faculty of Engineering. This followed an earlier orientation session for faculty members held on July 31, 2025.
The program began with the Tilawat-e-Quran by Dr. Mohammad Asjad Ansari, followed by the Jamia Tarana presented by students under the leadership of Mr. Zeeshan Zamir Ahmad. Saplings and Angvastra made by students were presented to the Vice Chancellor Prof. Mazhar Asif, Registrar Prof. Md. Mahtab Alam Rizvi, and other distinguished guests.
In her welcome address, Prof. Jessy Abraham, Dean of the Faculty of Education, introduced the departments and centers under the faculty, while emphasizing academic discipline, community engagement, and co-curricular activities. She urged students to maintain JMI’s academic legacy and to build themselves with wisdom, knowledge, and skills.
The event featured a series of addresses by senior university officials. Speakers highlighted key initiatives including the “Go-Green Campaign,” Choice-Based Credit System (CBCS), library facilities, sports and cultural activities, and student welfare measures. Presentations also covered topics such as code of conduct, anti-ragging measures, prevention of sexual harassment (POSH), placement opportunities, SWAYAM courses, and the importance of mental health.
The highlight of the event was the release of the Newsletter from the Department of TT & NFE by the Vice Chancellor and Registrar. In his address, Prof. Mazhar Asif motivated students to uphold the dignity of JMI and pursue excellence. The program concluded with the national anthem in Indian Sign Language.
