Ghaziabad, October 31, 2025 — The School of Social Sciences at Christ (Deemed to be University), Delhi NCR Campus organized its annual interdisciplinary fest EQUINOX’25, celebrating innovation, ethics, and leadership across disciplines including Media, Economics, and Political Science.
The event began with an energetic inaugural ceremony, where the lamp was lit by Ms. Ayushi Rana, Senior Fact Checker at DFRAC, along with Dr. Jeanne Poulose (Dean, School of Social Sciences), Dr. Shivani Chaudhry (Head of Department), Dr. Jitender Bhandari (Academic Coordinator), and core faculty members. The ceremony marked the formal opening of EQUINOX’25 — a day devoted to insightful sessions, creative competitions, and youth-driven dialogue.

Mr. Sumit Awasthi, Consulting Editor at NDTV, joined virtually as the Chief Guest and delivered a thought-provoking address on “Unlocking the Secret to Becoming a Smart and Savvy Media Explorer.” He spoke about the importance of being responsible citizens in the digital era, emphasizing that “the credibility of media depends on how responsibly we use information — as citizens first, and as journalists later.” His address resonated deeply with the audience, setting the tone for the day’s theme of media ethics and accountability.
Following the inaugural, Ms. Ayushi Rana conducted a dynamic workshop on “Empowered Youth, Verified Voices,” where she highlighted the pressing need to combat misinformation and train young people as informed, critical media users. She shared real-world examples from her work in fact-checking and encouraged students to question, verify, and share responsibly.
The event featured academic exhibitions — Ecoinspire (Economics), Vivechana (Political Science), and Mesta (Media Studies) — alongside a series of exciting competitions including Word Warriors (Debate), Minimakers (Business Plan Proposal), Trash to Cash (Eco Innovation), and Gamesphere (Indoor Sports), showcasing students’ analytical and creative skills.
In the valedictory session, Mr. Amit Pandey, TEDx Speaker, Corporate Leader, and Entrepreneur, inspired students through his talk on “Leadership and Positive Mindset.” He encouraged students to cultivate initiative, resilience, and ethical decision-making, noting that “leadership begins when you take responsibility for creating change.”
The day concluded with music performances, announcement of winners, and a vote of thanks, celebrating a successful culmination of ideas, expression, and learning.
Reflecting on the event’s success, Dr. Shivani Chaudhry, Head of the School of Social Sciences, remarked, “EQUINOX’25 truly embodied the Christ spirit — where creativity meets conscience, and students learn to lead with responsibility and purpose.”
