New Delhi, India | 27–30 October 2025 – His Excellency Mr. Karlito Nunes and First Secretary Aurélio Barros represented Timor-Leste at the Eighth High-Level Session of the International Solar Alliance (ISA) Assembly, held in New Delhi, India.

The Hon’ble President of India, Her Excellency Droupadi Murmu, addressed the High-Level Session, highlighting the global commitment to accelerating solar energy adoption as a key driver for sustainable development and climate action.
This year’s assembly brought together representatives from over 124 member and signatory countries, with participation from 440+ international delegates and 50+ solar startups from across Africa and the Asia-Pacific region. More than 40 ministers and numerous global policymakers attended the session, which served as a platform to review progress, discuss challenges, and coordinate efforts to make solar energy affordable and accessible to all.

The International Solar Alliance is an action-oriented, member-driven intergovernmental organization dedicated to promoting the large-scale deployment of solar energy technologies. Its mission is to advance energy access, enhance energy security, and drive the global energy transition through solar solutions.
Timor-Leste’s participation in the session marks an important step toward the nation’s aspiration to become a signatory and full member of the ISA, reinforcing its commitment to renewable energy development and sustainable growth.
