On November 11, Russian Ambassador to India Denis Alipov addressed the inaugural session of the 4th Russia-India Heads of Think Tanks Meeting, organized by MGIMO University and the Indian Council of World Affairs (ICWA).

Denis Alipov highlighted the depth and multifaceted nature of Russian-Indian cooperation based on long-standing friendship, trust, and mutual interest. He emphasized the need to fully realize the potential of the bilateral strategic partnership, which marks its 25th anniversary this year, and elaborated on its key role as a stabilizing factor in the international arena.
In the context of ongoing geopolitical challenges, the Ambassador pointed out the closeness of the two counties’ approaches to major issues on the global and regional agenda, including the formation of a truly just and equal multipolar world order and the strengthening of the voice of the Global South, through coordination at multilateral fora such as BRICS, SCO, the G20, and others.

The speakers at the event included Dr Maxim Suchkov, Director of the Institute for International Studies at MGIMO University, Mayank Singh, Joint Secretary, Eurasia Division, India’s Ministry of External Affairs, and Nutan Kapoor Mahawar, Acting Director General & Additional Secretary, ICWA.

On the Russian side, the meeting was attended by representatives of MGIMO, HSE University, the Institute of Oriental Studies of the Russian Academy of Sciences, the Primakov Institute of World Economy and International Relations of the Russian Academy of Sciences, and the Russian International Affairs Council (RIAC).
