On November 10, Russian Ambassador to India Denis Alipov addressed the ceremony of the presentation of the book “The Thousand Years War: Russia and the West” by Indian writer and Pushkin Medal recipient Achala Moulik.

Denis Alipov noted the timeliness and high relevance of the publication, which provides a detailed account of the centuries-long history of conflicts instigated by Western countries against Russia in attempts to seize its territories and resources. He emphasized that Achala Moulik’s work is objective and scholarly in nature, as well as marked by balance and depth.

The Indian author of several popular books is renowned for her professional interest in Russian literature and culture. Among her notable works are “Commemorating 50 Years of India-Russia Relations: Treaty of Peace, Friendship and Cooperation of 1971”, “Silhouettes of Russian Literature: Pushkin to Yevtushenko”, and “A Hundred Years of Leo Tolstoy and the Indian Connection”.

The event was attended by representatives of friendly diplomatic missions, as well as members of the journalistic, academic, expert, and cultural communities.
