West Bank: A serious incident came to light on Sunday evening in the occupied Palestinian territory of the West Bank, where a group of Jewish settlers attacked a Palestinian ambulance. The incident took place near the Zaatara checkpoint, south of Nablus.
According to ambulance officer Bashar Qaryouti, the attack occurred when an ambulance from the Qaryut area was on its way to a hospital near the “Evyatar” outpost on Mount Sabih. During this time, attackers lying in wait began pelting the ambulance with stones.
He said that the attackers were wearing masks and were dressed in similar uniforms. They deliberately smashed the front windshield of the ambulance, which clearly indicates that the medical team was directly targeted.
In this context, a report by the Wall and Settlement Resistance Commission stated that during the month of March, a total of 1,819 attacks were carried out against Palestinians and their property in the West Bank.
According to the report, Jewish settlers were responsible for 497 of these attacks. The highest number of incidents was recorded in Nablus, with 113 attacks, followed by 110 in Al-Khalil (Hebron) and 90 in the Ramallah and Al-Bireh areas.
In simple terms, this incident shows that the situation there is tense, and not only ordinary people but even medical services are not safe.
