New Delhi: The Muslim Students Organisation (MSO) of India has urged the National Testing Agency (NTA) to reschedule the CUET UG Examination slated for 28 May 2026, as the date coincides with Bakra Eid (Eid-ul-Adha), one of the most significant religious festivals observed by Muslims across the country.
In a letter addressed to the Director General of NTA, MSO General Secretary Tausif Raza expressed concern that conducting a major national-level examination on the day of Eid would create considerable inconvenience and emotional stress for thousands of Muslim students appearing for the examination.
The organisation stated that Bakra Eid is an occasion of immense religious and spiritual importance during which Muslims participate in special prayers, religious observances, family gatherings, and community responsibilities. Due to these obligations, many students may face difficulty in appearing for the examination with full concentration and peace of mind.
MSO of India has appealed to the NTA to reconsider the examination schedule and announce an alternative date for the CUET UG examination in order to ensure equal convenience and a fair opportunity for all candidates.
The organisation further expressed hope that the authorities would sympathetically consider the concerns and sentiments of students and take a positive decision in the interest of fairness and inclusivity.
