Late on the night of June 2, 2026, a group of around 15–20 people allegedly vandalized and pelted stones outside the Khan Global Studies coaching center in the Musallahpur Haat area under Kadamkuan police station limits in Patna. The attack left a security guard seriously injured. According to eyewitnesses, the attackers also damaged vehicles parked outside the coaching institute and nearby property, creating panic and chaos in the area. Following the incident, a large police force was deployed at the spot, and an investigation was launched. Khan Sir and his security personnel have also claimed that shots were fired during the attack, a claim that police are currently verifying through CCTV footage and forensic evidence.
Large crowds of students often gather outside coaching institutes. In such situations, local miscreants may take advantage of the crowd to settle personal scores or establish dominance in the area. Therefore, incidents like these may sometimes be linked not directly to the coaching institute itself but to local criminal activities.
The Kadamkuan and Naya Tola areas of Patna have long been known as major coaching hubs. Numerous large and small coaching institutes operate there, leading to intense competition for students, influence, and market presence. Such rivalry between institutions and their supporters can occasionally escalate into violent confrontations.
Khan Sir’s Response
Khan Sir has rejected the idea that this was an ordinary dispute. According to him, the attack was a well-planned commercial assault. He stated that students from his institute have recently achieved impressive results in Bihar Police recruitment examinations and several other competitive exams, significantly increasing the institute’s popularity and influence.
Khan Sir also believes that the low fees charged by his institute could be a major reason behind the attack. He argues that providing quality education at affordable rates enables students from economically weaker backgrounds to prepare for competitive examinations, which affects the business interests of larger coaching institutes. He alleged that some major players in the industry, whom he referred to as a “coaching mafia,” feel threatened by his growing success.
He further claimed that just two days before the incident, he received a direct threat from another coaching operator, warning that his coaching institute would be “blown up within two days.” Khan Sir believes there may be a connection between that threat and the subsequent attack, although these allegations are yet to be verified.
Government and Police Action
Following the incident, police intensified their investigation. CCTV footage from the coaching institute and surrounding areas is being closely examined to identify the attackers and determine the actual motive behind the attack. Authorities have stated that all possible angles are being investigated impartially.
Khan Sir and his security guard have claimed that 8–10 rounds of firing took place during the attack, leaving one guard injured. However, police officials have stated that while evidence of assault and stone-pelting is clear, the firing claims are still being verified through forensic analysis and CCTV footage. Therefore, any final conclusion will only emerge after the investigation is completed.
According to media reports, police are currently focusing on the possibility of business rivalry between coaching institutes as a key angle in the case. If sufficient evidence emerges, the incident could become a significant example of the growing competition and tensions within Bihar’s coaching industry.
After the attack, Khan Sir expressed confidence in the state administration and requested additional security for his institute and students. He also appealed to his students to remain calm, trust the legal process, and avoid getting involved in any form of retaliation or conflict.
The real reason behind the violent incident outside Khan Sir’s coaching institute remains under investigation. Whether local criminals, coaching rivalry, business interests, or some other factor is responsible, all possibilities are being examined. What is already clear, however, is that the incident has brought national attention to the highly competitive and increasingly tense environment of Bihar’s coaching industry. The final truth will emerge only after the police investigation and analysis of available evidence are completed.
