New Delhi, June 21: The Embassy of Finland celebrated International Yoga Day by encouraging its staff members to participate in a series of yoga activities, highlighting the universal appeal and accessibility of the ancient practice.
Sharing the occasion on social media, embassy officials emphasized that “everyone can do yoga,” regardless of age, experience, or fitness level. Colleagues from the embassy tried some of their favorite yoga poses, promoting the importance of physical well-being, mindfulness, and work-life balance.
International Yoga Day, observed annually on June 21, was established by the United Nations in 2014 following a proposal by India. The day aims to raise global awareness about the many benefits of practicing yoga, including improved physical health, mental wellness, and stress management.
The Embassy of Finland’s participation reflects the growing global recognition of yoga as a practice that transcends cultural boundaries and fosters wellness, inclusion, and community engagement.
