New Delhi, June 21: The International Day of Yoga was observed across the globe on June 21, bringing together millions of people in celebration of wellness, mindfulness, and holistic living.
The annual observance was established by the United Nations General Assembly in 2014 following a proposal put forward by India. The resolution received unprecedented support, with 175 member states co-sponsoring and unanimously adopting it.
Since its inception, the International Day of Yoga has promoted the practice of yoga as a means of achieving physical well-being, mental balance, and spiritual growth.
On the occasion, greetings were extended to yoga practitioners worldwide, recognizing the philosophy of yoga that emphasizes inner harmony, a healthy lifestyle, and personal development.
