ALIGARH, MBBS students of the Department of Pathology, Jawaharlal Nehru Medical College (JNMC), Aligarh Muslim University, delivered an impressive performance in the institute-level Pathology Quiz organized by the Department of Pathology under the aegis of the Uttar Pradesh Chapter of the Indian Association of Pathologists and Microbiologists (UPIAPM).
Faiza Furqan secured the first position, while Maryam Ahmad finished second and Aryaan Tariq secured the third position. Around 25 second professional MBBS students participated in the competition, which was organized to promote academic excellence, strengthen conceptual understanding, and foster healthy academic competition among undergraduate medical students.

With their outstanding performance, Faiza Furqan and Maryam Ahmad have qualified to represent JNMC at the state-level UPIAPM Pathology Quiz scheduled to be held in August.
Prof. Nishat Afroz, Chairperson, Department of Pathology, congratulated the winners and appreciated the enthusiastic participation of all the students. She emphasized that such academic competitions stimulate interest in pathology while enhancing students’ analytical thinking and diagnostic abilities. All participants were awarded certificates, while the winners received mementoes in recognition of their achievement.
Dr. Bushra Siddiqui, Assistant Professor, Department of Pathology and Convener of the quiz, said that such academic initiatives provide valuable opportunities for students to assess their knowledge, sharpen clinical reasoning skills, and prepare for higher-level academic competitions.
