New Delhi, July 23, 2026: Amid student protests taking place in different parts of the country and growing concerns over the examination system, the Muslim Students Organization of India (MSO) has issued a detailed official statement supporting the democratic rights of students.
The organization said that in a democracy, expressing one’s views, raising questions, and peacefully voicing legitimate demands are the constitutional rights of every student. At the same time, MSO strongly condemned incidents of violence, arson, and damage to public property during the protests, and appealed to both the government and students to exercise restraint, engage in dialogue, and follow constitutional means to resolve the issues.
In its statement, MSO said that the greatest strength of any democratic system lies in its aware, responsible, and educated youth. If students have any concerns or grievances regarding the examination process or administrative system, they should be addressed not through confrontation but through transparency, dialogue, and constitutional procedures.
The organization expressed confidence that the Government of India and the concerned institutions will take students’ concerns seriously and take prompt steps towards a fair and transparent resolution.
The organization expressed deep concern over incidents of violence, arson, damage to public property, and attacks on police personnel reported during the protests in recent days. MSO also made it clear that protesting is a democratic right, but violence can never be the hallmark of any public movement. The organization also wished for the speedy recovery of injured students, police personnel, and civilians.
MSO also stated that during major student movements, certain political and external elements often attempt to divert the situation to serve their own interests. In such circumstances, students need to remain vigilant and ensure that their movement stays free from any kind of political or communal influence. The organization appealed to all students to respect the law and express their views in a peaceful and non-violent manner.
At the same time, MSO urged the government to maintain continuous dialogue with students, share accurate and clear information from time to time, and ensure a transparent and prompt resolution of their legitimate concerns, so that an atmosphere of trust can be maintained.
At the conclusion of its message, MSO National President Ariful Qadri Wahidi said that the organization’s clear message is: “Education is our goal, peace is our identity, and the progress of the nation is our responsibility.” He called for keeping education above politics, keeping young people away from violence, and working together for a better future for the country.
