Jammu and Kashmir is witnessing a remarkable journey of development, transformation and new opportunities. After decades of challenges, the region is moving towards a brighter future, with growing investment in healthcare, education, sports, tourism, industries, railway connectivity, power infrastructure, highways and rural development.
The opening of AIIMS Kashmir at Awantipora marks a historic milestone in the healthcare sector. After a long wait, the people of Kashmir are looking forward to advanced medical facilities, specialised treatment, modern technology and quality healthcare closer to home. This is an important step towards reducing the need for patients to travel outside Jammu and Kashmir for specialised treatment.
Under the dynamic leadership of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, Jammu and Kashmir has witnessed significant investment in infrastructure and development. The abrogation of Article 370 in August 2019 marked a new administrative chapter, followed by major projects in roads, railways, healthcare, education and connectivity.
The completion of the Udhampur-Srinagar-Baramulla railway link, the historic Chenab Railway Bridge, modern highways, tunnels and improved road connectivity are creating new opportunities for people, businesses and tourists.

Healthcare facilities are expanding through AIIMS, medical colleges, modern hospitals and specialised medical institutions. Educational institutions, universities and professional colleges are opening new doors for students and young professionals.
The biggest change is visible in the aspirations of today’s youth. Young people of Jammu and Kashmir are increasingly busy with education, sports, tourism, entrepreneurship and constructive activities. They want opportunities, modern education, professional careers, playgrounds and a peaceful society. Our youth are becoming ambassadors of peace, unity and development.
Sports infrastructure and competitions are encouraging young talent. Kashmir has enormous potential to become a national and international sports destination. We need to continue investing in playgrounds, stadiums, coaching facilities and youth programmes to build a drug-free society.
Tourism is also entering a new chapter. National and international visitors are discovering Kashmir’s natural beauty, hospitality, rich traditions and cultural heritage. The revival of unity, brotherhood, Sufi traditions and Kashmir’s diverse cultural identity is strengthening the region’s social fabric. Tourism is creating opportunities for hotels, restaurants, transport operators, handicraft sellers and thousands of local families.
The fruit industry is another major strength of Jammu and Kashmir. Our apples, cherries, walnuts, almonds and other agricultural products have tremendous national and international market potential. Modern cold storage, packaging, food processing, transportation and better market connectivity can further strengthen farmers’ incomes and make Kashmir’s horticulture industry more competitive globally.
Industries, handicrafts, power projects, digital connectivity and new business investments are also contributing to economic opportunities. Our traditional Pashmina, carpets, papier-mâché, walnut wood carving and other handicrafts deserve greater recognition in international markets.
People are witnessing improvements in connectivity, public infrastructure, tourism facilities and access to essential services. There is a growing aspiration for peace, stability and a better quality of life.
However, development must reach every village and every household. Employment, quality education, affordable healthcare, reliable electricity, strong roads and equal opportunities for rural youth must remain priorities.
The real success of development will be measured when every young person has an opportunity to succeed, every farmer receives a fair price, every artisan finds a global market and every family enjoys dignity and security.
Jammu and Kashmir is moving forward with a new vision: education instead of ignorance, sports instead of drugs, employment instead of uncertainty, peace instead of conflict, and unity instead of division.
Under the leadership of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, with continued central assistance and the efforts of the Jammu and Kashmir administration, let us work together to make Jammu and Kashmir a model of development, prosperity, peace and cultural harmony by 2047.
Today’s Kashmir wants education, sports, tourism, development , unity and peace. Our future belongs to our youth!
