The University of Southampton has officially launched its Delhi campus (Southampton University Delhi), becoming the first UK university and the first among the world’s top 100 universities to set up a physical campus in India, which is a symbolic step towards deepening UK-India educational relations.
The campus reflects the common desire of the two nations to pursue academic excellence, innovation, and global cooperation. The effort is expected to strengthen bilateral relationships in higher education and offer excellent opportunities to Indian students.

The British Council India, the University Grants Commission, and the Ministry of Education have all been behind this milestone. Local support has also come from CMO Haryana and Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan.
