Goa, August 22, 2025: Today marks a historic milestone — the 400th anniversary of the arrival of the first Lithuanian, Andrius Rudamina SJ, in Goa on August 22, 1625.
To commemorate this special occasion, a wooden sculpture of Andrius Rudamina, created by renowned Lithuanian artist Juozas Kalinauskas, will be unveiled at the Pilgrimage of Faith Museum of the Sé Cathedral in Old Goa on August 25, 2025.
The unveiling will be part of a broader series of events dedicated to the 2025–26 Year of People-to-People Connections between Lithuania and India, celebrating the shared history and cultural linkages between the two nations.
