Homoeopathy is a friend of health…

Notes on Homoeopathy: We, as human beings, need to slow down, observe the changes in our body, and try to heal it as early as possible. Otherwise, they will progress to illness that are diagnostically called disease

Homoeopathy is a system of medicine in which the body’s own healing properties are stimulated by a minute dosage of medicine prepared from natural resources.

Our human body is a well-ordered, systematic and well-regulated machinery working in a harmonious way. That is, it is a body and mind relationship. It has all the powers to protect itself and to keep it going for the higher purpose of existence.

To understand homoeopathy, we have to first understand our body and the cause of disease.
Human body is in an equilibrium state, that is, it is healthy, until its equilibrium is not disturbed by prolonged, or sudden mental and emotional trauma. When it’s equilibrium deteriorates, it’s called disease, which manifest itself in the form of symptoms.

There may be indisposition in the body sometimes by alteration in temperature, diet etc. However, in these cases, medicine is not needed, the body is capable of bringing equilibrium to itself.
The question arises in our mind as to what is the role of bacteria, viruses, fungus, carcinogens? How to know about the status of our healing power? How to enhance it?

In homoeopathy, the role of the physician is to reach to the deepest level of illness, to the most probable emotional, mental cause, and how the individual and his body has responded in that particular situation. This actually defines the person as a whole, and guides us toward the medicine the individual needs.
This wonderful machinery, the human body, can manifest its needs by the symptoms that may be in the early stages. They can be in the form of disturbed sleep, minor alteration in bowel habits, irritation at the physical and mental level, and, most significantly, not having a feeling of well-being. This means that the disease has started much earlier, much before we found the changes in the lab reports.

We, as human beings, need to slow down, observe the changes in our body, and try to heal it as early as possible. Otherwise, they will progress to illness that are diagnostically called disease.
And then the role of bacteria and viruses come into play. They attack the previously disturbed body and produce the symptoms of disease.

The question is why do different types of disease arise at different stages of life?
As we have mentioned earlier, our body is an intelligent being. It always tries to throw the manifestation of disease on the least important organ of the body, mostly, the skin, and the mucus membranes. However, the problem arises when we remove the disease from the skin and mucous membranes, and it progresses towards the more important organs.

Despite the established benefits, some people still have a lot of misconceptions about homoeopathy. The first misconception is that homoeopathy is slow to act.

The truth is that the time required to treat an illness is directly proportional to the severity of illness. This is determined not according to the lab reports, but only according to the judgement of our ‘body- needs’; that is, ‘vitiligo’ is more advanced disease than ‘lichen planus’ and ‘psoriasis’.

We, as homoeopathy doctors, get to treat most cases which are advanced, because the patient chose to come to homoeopathy when she/he did not get permanent relief through modern medicine. Many of them continue to consider homoeopathy as the first choice of treatment. More so, the case is altered by medical intervention and thereby it becomes difficult to cure.

Homoeopathy has a tremendous role to play in acute diseases like viral fever, coryza, acute exacerbation of chronic diseases — if the medicine taken is accurate.

We totally agree that sometimes the time required to treat a ‘disease-condition’ may be more than what is expected by the patient, because we try to compare homoeopathy with modern medicine. Indeed, the approach, philosophy and mode of treatment and sustainability of cure is far different from modern medicine.

Hence, please, and it’s a sincere request — please to try to understand the concept of disease and the philosophy of homeopathic treatment to get the enormous benefits of this wonderful science.
