Not the sleepless nights you endure. They see the results you put on paper. Not the battles you fight behind closed doors
By Umesh Kumari
No one loves you unconditionally…
Friends love your smile but not your silence,
They walk beside you in joy,
But vanish when you’re drowning in sadness.

Teachers praise you for your marks,
Not the sleepless nights you endure.
They see the results you put on paper,
Not the battles
you
fight
behind closed doors.

Parents love the child they dreamed you’d be,
Not always the person you’re becoming.
They hold pride in your success,
But overlook the weight of their expectations.
Society loves the mask you wear,
Not the face hidden underneath.
They cheer for your strength in public,
But ignore your cries when you’re weak.

Everyone wants something from you…
Friends want laughter, but not your pain,
Teachers want excellence, not your exhaustion.
Parents want perfection, not your truth,
The world wants a version of you that doesn’t exist.
And you?
You
carry
it all…
The fear of disappointing those you love,
The pain of being misunderstood,
The burden of living up to what they want,
While losing pieces of yourself in the process.
Who sees your tears when the room is empty?
Who listens to the thoughts you can’t say aloud?
Who loves you when you’re failing, falling, breaking apart?
When you’re too tired to keep faking?

You keep Giving
and
Giving…
Until there’s nothing left.
And yet,
they ask for more..
As if your soul is endless.

This truly touched my heart . I have no words that could describe how true this feels . But amazing Umesh .
Umesh beta , I don’t have words that describe you.
But I think a mother loves us the most.
Thanks for this Umesh.
Some lines made me stop and reflect strongly about my life, my student’s lives.
Good writing, makes you feel like writing.
Family loves you unconditionally, no matter what.
Thankss…umesh..This made me introspect more on myself….on the real version of myself…. sometimes it’s better to just stop pushing ourselves…nd we all know there will always a person who keeps judging and expecting us to be someone else, but what we should truly care about is what we actually want and what we are…..
Umesh, you’ve written it so well. As a teenager, I can really feel the weight of your words. The idea that no one loves you unconditionally hits hard; it’s something so many of us can relate to. It feels like you have poured your heart into this, and the raw emotion is so evident. The way you have expressed this truth, with all its pain and reality, is powerful. It’s beautiful and heartbreaking at the same time. Keep writing from the heart, your words carry so much depth.
It’s the innermost, drastic yet so profusely subtle truth of one’s life, whether it may be a friend or parent or teacher or relative, they love the sunshine side of one’s life, not the struggle, hard times, the darkest toil you have undergone. Very well written Umesh Absolutely a different theme you have touched.
