Claim
A viral image circulating currently in social media claims that the Shirdi Sai Temple Trust in Shirdi, Maharashtra, has donated Rs 35 crore to the Hajj. The caption states that the Trust has gifted a huge sum to Muslims for Hajj. The claimant is thereby persuading Hindus not to donate money to the Shirdi Trust, as it is donating cash to Muslims for Hajj.
Fact Check
To authenticate the claim, timesheadline.in conducted an advanced keyword search on X (formerly Twitter) for ‘Shirdi Sai Trust’ along with the handle @kavita_tewari. However, we could not find her tweet, which is quoted in the image shared by the claimant.
We searched the Shree Saibaba Sansthan Trust Shirdi’s X page regarding the donation. There was nothing regarding the claim.

While probing for claim, we analysed a news report in ETV Bharat Marathi. The report (April 24, 2023), states that this propaganda has spread in various regional languages. The report also stated about the constitution of the Sai Temple Trust does not provide for any such fund.

The Trust is under the state government’s control and has to take prior permission from it since 2004, and from the Bombay High Court since 2013. The Trust works under the supervision of the court. Every decision is scrutinized by the court and the state government, and is made public on their website.
Further, it has been reported that the Trust’s CEO, Rahul Jadhav, has taken legal recourse against the defamers. Proper action will be taken against those peddling misinformation against the Shree Saibaba Sansthan Trust at Shirdi, Jadhav said.
Conclusion
The viral claim that the Shirdi Sai Temple Trush has donated money for Hajj is fake.
