During the visit, Ambassador A.Yeskarayev made a stop at the office of the Honorary consul of Kazakhstan in India, Mahendra Kumar Sanghi, and familiarized himself with the team’s work. Particular emphasis placed on prospects for expanding trade, economic, and investment cooperation with India, especially considering Mumbai’s role as the financial capital of India. In this regard, the Honorary consul was tasked with intensifying efforts to attract foreign direct investment into Kazakhstan.
The Kazakh Ambassador also visited Lilavati Hospital & Research Centre, a multi-specialty private clinic in Mumbai, and held talks with the management team led by Prashant Mehta. The parties discussed the details of an investment project worth approximately USD 30 million to construct a medical facility in Kazakhstan. With the participation of the Ambassador of Kazakhstan a Letter of Intent was signed confirming the Indian side’s interest in implementing the project.
In addition, A. Yeskarayev, leading a Kazakh delegation comprising the Rector of Almaty University of Power Engineering and Telecommunications, Gani Nygymetov, and Co-founder of Dala Edge Creative Tech Park, Danat Zhumyn, held working meetings with representatives of the Films Division of India, a government body under the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting. Meetings were also held with the leadership of Whistling Woods International, one of India’s leading institutes in film, communications, and performing arts, as well as with representatives of the Film and Television Institute of India, which operates under the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting of the Government of India. The Kazakh delegation became acquainted with the operations of these institutions and the specifics of the Indian film industry.
The parties discussed key areas of cultural and humanitarian cooperation between Kazakhstan and India, including the launch of joint film productions (co-production), the promotion of Kazakh cinema in the Indian market, and cooperation in the field of film education.
The main emphasis was placed on the export of educational services and creative products to India, which could provide a significant impetus for bringing the two countries closer and generate additional revenue for the Kazakh budget.
As a result, the Kazakh side invited Indian partners to work together on filming in Kazakhstan’s unique locations, participating in industry-specific film forums, and launching joint educational programs with the new international campus of the New York Film Academy (NYFA) in Kaskelen, a flagship project of Dala Edge.
