India hosted the 2nd BIMSTEC Ports Conclave in Visakhapatnam based on the theme ‘Navigating the Future: Blue Economy, Innovation & Sustainable Partnerships’, in line with its Neighbourhood First policy.
The Conclave saw participation of delegations of the BIMSTEC member States, comprising officials, maritime experts, port authorities, private sector leaders & regional development partners.
Discussions focused on diverse issues- harmonising customs procedures & enhancing logistical links to boost trade, tourism, digital integration, industry-academia ties, green shipping, etc. This initiative will further strengthen maritime cooperation in the Bay of Bengal region.
