New Delhi, India In a moment to rejoice Indo-French cultural ties, the French government has formally bestowed Dr Toolika Gupta, Director of Jaipur-based Indian Institute of Crafts and Design (IICD), with the rank of Chevalier de l’Ordre National du Mérite.
The award was conferred on Dr Gupta by H.E. Thierry Mathou, French Ambassador to India. Dr Gupta received this respectfully titled award on the occasion of (i) her exceptional contribution to ethical design, textile heritage and, (ii) ongoing efforts towards implementing Indo-French academic and cultural collaboration.

Moreover, she is President of Alliance Française Jaipur where she has made significant contributions towards intercultural engagement work. Key participants at the title presentation included Nivritti Kumari Mewar and other distinguished guests, and it was organized and managed by the French Institute in india and IICD Jaipur.
Dr Gupta’s recognition is a testament of sustained effort towards fostering international collaboration culture in the domain of design, education and arts.
