ALIGARH, August 18: Prof. Mohd Shamim, Department of Commerce, Aligarh Muslim University, has successfully qualified the Online Proficiency Self-Assessment Test for Independent Directors conducted by the Indian Institute of Corporate Affairs (IICA), Ministry of Corporate Affairs, Government of India.
By clearing this rigorous examination, Prof. Shamim’s name has been officially included in the Data Bank of Independent Directors, a national registry maintained by IICA. This qualification makes him eligible to serve as an Independent Director on the boards of companies across India, in accordance with the provisions of the Companies Act, 2013.
The Online Proficiency Test is designed to assess knowledge of corporate governance, company law, ethics, finance and regulatory frameworks essential for board-level responsibilities. Qualifying the test reflects a high level of professional competence and a sound understanding of legal and ethical responsibilities in corporate functioning.
Expressing his views on the achievement, Prof. Shamim said, “It is an honour to be part of the Data Bank of Independent Directors. I look forward to contributing to the corporate sector with integrity, transparency and a focus on good governance.”
