Today, we proudly mark 76 years of Finland–India diplomatic relations.
This past year has been truly special, full of milestones that strengthened our partnership. Key highlights include:
Inauguration of the Chancery of the Consulate General in Mumbai by the Under-Secretary of State, Pekka Puustinen
Opening of a new Honorary Consulate in Gujarat
Celebrating the Moomins in Delhi and Mumbai
Signing of MoUs in Maharashtra and Karnataka
Hosting Polar Bear Pitching in India for the first time
Team Finland India Roadshow
Visit of the Commerce Committee of the Parliament of Finland
Hei Suomi quiz for school students
Showcasing Finnish films across India

Our collaboration continues to grow in areas such as sustainability, circular economy, skilling, education, talent mobility, maritime, and gaming—driven by innovation and a shared vision for a greener future.
With Finnish companies deepening their roots in states like Maharashtra, Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, and Gujarat, the partnership is not just about investing in India, but also investing with India.
Looking ahead, we are excited for the journey towards the World Circular Economy Forum 2026, which will be held in India in autumn 2026. WCEF2026 will be hosted jointly by the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB), operating under India’s Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change, and the Finnish Innovation Fund Sitra.
Here’s to the next chapter of Finland–India friendship—76 years strong and still growing.
