New Delhi, September 15, 2025 – Andrey Slepnev, Minister in charge of Trade of the Eurasian Economic Commission, held talks with Piyush Goyal, India’s Minister of Commerce and Industry.
During the meeting, both sides emphasized the endorsement of a roadmap aimed at facilitating efficient and fast-tracked negotiations on a Free Trade Agreement (FTA) between the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) and India.

The Ministers agreed on an approach whereby the first round of negotiations is scheduled to take place in early November this year in India, focusing on the core aspects of the future agreement. This will be preceded by intensive consultations between the Commission, Indian partners, and the EAEU Member States.
Both parties also committed to maintaining regular contact to ensure comprehensive support throughout the negotiation process.
