Sri Lankan Expert Delivers Interactive Session on English Teaching Methods at AMU

ALIGARH, October 8: The PG Discussion Group, Department of English, Aligarh Muslim University (AMU), organized an interactive-cum-discussion session on “English Teaching Methods, Approaches and Techniques,” featuring Dr. M.A.M. Sameem, Former Head, Department of English Language Teaching, South Eastern University of Sri Lanka (SEUSL).

Dr. Sameem discussed the evolution of English Language Teaching (ELT) methods, their practical applications, and contemporary teaching models such as flipped classrooms. He highlighted the challenges of virtual and blended learning environments and stressed the need for innovative, 21stcentury pedagogical approaches. His recent publication on the SSE-TPACK Model was also noted for its contribution to ELT scholarship.

Earlier, Professor ShaheenaTarannum, Chairperson, Department of English, welcomed and felicitated the guest, emphasizing the department’s longstanding contribution to the field of ELT. Professor Raashid Nehal introduced the speaker and commended the department’s efforts in promoting student-centric academic engagement.

The session was conducted by Prof. Jawed S. Ahmad, Convener, PG Discussion Group, and concluded with a vote of thanks by Dr. Muneer A.K.
