The Gaza Strip has once again fallen victim to fresh violence. According to the Palestinian Information Center (PIC), on Thursday morning the Israeli occupation forces carried out several airstrikes on the eastern areas of Khan Younis in southern Gaza. Heavy artillery shelling also continued during these attacks, spreading fear among the people.

Civil defense teams reported that after the attack on the homes of the Abu Sabt and Sahmoud families in the Bani Suhaila area, the bodies of three martyrs were recovered. In addition, 15 injured people were safely rescued and taken to the hospital. Relief workers said that evacuating people amid the ongoing attacks is extremely challenging.

Civil Defense also stated that they rescued an injured citizen from the Jauhar ad-Deek area. This rescue operation was carried out with the coordination of the UN humanitarian agency OCHA.

This wave of attacks came at a time when, just a day earlier, hospitals in Gaza had reported that 28 civilians were killed, including 17 children and one woman. In addition, 77 people were injured. According to local authorities, these incidents are a blatant violation of the ceasefire agreement that came into effect on October 10.
