ALIGARH, November 26: The Community College, Aligarh Muslim University, organised an orientation programme for newly admitted students of the 2025–26 session, introducing them to the college’s academic vision, resources and support system.
The event was inaugurated by Prof Mujib Ahmad Ansari, Nodal Officer of the Community College, who assured students of comprehensive guidance in both foundational and applied aspects of their courses. He emphasised the college’s commitment to fostering academic growth and professional readiness.
Chief Guest Prof Rafiuddin, Dean of Students’ Welfare, congratulated the entrants and encouraged them to take full advantage of AMU’s diverse opportunities. He urged students to participate actively in academic and co-curricular activities to achieve holistic development.
Addressing the gathering, Dr Salma Shaheen, Principal, Women’s Polytechnic, stressed the importance of sincerity, focus and early career planning. Prof Sabih Akhtar from the Department of Civil Engineering highlighted the rising demand for skill-oriented programmes in today’s job market. Course Coordinators Dr Mohammad Zain Khan (Polymer and Coating Technology) and Dr Sheeba Kamal (Fashion Design & Garment Technology) briefed students on the academic structure, industry exposure and career prospects of their respective programmes.
Guest Faculty Dr Tooba Fatima and Mrs Farha elaborated on the curriculum, credits, evaluation systems and vocational opportunities in B.Voc. Polymer & Coating Technology and B.Voc. Fashion Design & Garment Technology. Assistant Professor Pankaj Kumar Tyagi (Leather and Footwear Technology) provided an overview of AMU’s academic breadth, NAAC accreditation and institutional standing.
The programme concluded with a vote of thanks by Dr Ghulam Waris Khan, while Dr Nimra Shakeel conducted the proceedings.
