AMU Shooter Zuhair Khan Wins Men’s Trap Gold at National Championship

ALIGARH, Aligarh Muslim University shooter Zuhair Khan delivered a composed and disciplined performance to clinch the men’s trap gold medal at the 68th National Shooting Championship Competitions (Shotgun), held at the Dr. Karni Singh Shooting Range in Faridabad.

Zuhair, student of B.Tech food technology IIIrd year who had earlier won a bronze medal in the junior men’s trap event, stepped up confidently in the senior category and displayed remarkable consistency under pressure. He closed the final with 43 accurate hits to secure his maiden senior national title.

Maintaining a steady rhythm and calm composure throughout the final, Zuhair capitalised on crucial moments as several experienced shooters faltered. His smooth transition from junior success to a senior national triumph underlines his growing maturity and also strengthens Uttar Pradesh’s presence in national shotgun shooting. He also won the bronze in the junior mixed team.

Coaches and officials lauded his performance. With this victory, Zuhair has emerged as a strong contender for upcoming national camps and international selection trials.
