As part of efforts to promote Egyptian tourism in India, the Embassy of the Arab Republic of Egypt in New Delhi, in coordination with the Defense Attaché Office, organized a tourist trip for 42 Indian tourists and foreign diplomats to Egypt from January 30 to February 6, 2026.

The trip included visits to archaeological and tourist sites, including the Grand Egyptian Museum (GEM), The National Museum of Egyptian Civilization (NMEC), and Khan el-Khalili, in addition to a Nile cruise between Luxor and Aswan.

On this occasion, and as part of celebrating the strong friendship between Egypt and India, “Welcome to Egypt” initiative organized a reception for the Indian guests at the Diplomatic Club in Tahrir Square, attended by Mrs. Naglaa Abdelsalam, spouse of Dr. Badr Abdelatty, Minister of Foreign Affairs, Emigration and Egyptian Expatriates. She welcomed the guests to Egypt, highlighting the depth of the cultural ties between Egypt and India.

On their part, the Indian guests expressed their appreciation for the warm hospitality they received since their arrival in Egypt and expressed their admiration for the blend of ancient and modern Egyptian civilization they witnessed, especially in light of the genuine renaissance that Egypt is currently experiencing.

The meeting was attended by H.E. Ambassador Ayman El-Desouky, Assistant Minister of Foreign Affairs for Protocol, and his spouse, along with Mrs. Reham Handousa, spouse of H.E. Ambassador Kamel Galal, Ambassador of the Arab Republic of Egypt to India, Mrs. Sneha Reddy, spouse of the Indian Ambassador to Cairo, Mrs. Soha Kamal, spouse of H.E. Ambassador Wael Hamed, Assistant Minister of Foreign Affairs for European Affairs and former Egyptian Ambassador to India, Mrs. Dalia Mahdi, spouse of H.E. Ambassador Hatem Tag El-Din, former Egyptian Ambassador to India, and Mrs. Hanan Fadlon, Vice President of “Welcome to Egypt” initiative.
