New Delhi: As part of the prestigious XXV Bharat Rang Mahotsav International Theatre Festival, audiences in the national capital will witness a unique cultural experience from Russia’s Arctic region. On February 12 at 7:00 PM, the Arctic State Institute of Culture and Art will present its acclaimed theatrical production “Faces of Olonkho” at Kamani Auditorium, New Delhi.

The performance brings to life the ancient Yakut heroic epic Olonkho, a UNESCO-recognized oral tradition that reflects the history, mythology, and spiritual worldview of the Sakha (Yakut) people of Siberia. Through expressive acting, traditional motifs, and powerful storytelling, the production unfolds a vivid world of heroes, spirits, and timeless moral struggles.

Staged in Russian, the 65-minute performance aims to introduce Indian audiences to a lesser-known yet culturally rich epic tradition, further strengthening cultural ties between Russia and India through theatre and performing arts.

The event will take place at Kamani Auditorium, 1 Copernicus Marg, New Delhi – 110001, and is expected to draw theatre enthusiasts, cultural scholars, and lovers of world folklore. Organisers have encouraged audiences not to miss this rare opportunity to experience Arctic indigenous storytelling on an international stage.
