Gaza City — The terms of the ceasefire in Gaza once again appeared to be violated when a Palestinian child was killed in gunfire by Israeli occupation forces on Sunday evening. The incident took place in the southeastern Zeitoun neighborhood of Gaza City.
The child who was killed has been identified as 16-year-old Mohammed al-Sarahi. According to local reports, he was shot near the Salah al-Din Mosque in the Zeitoun area, resulting in his death at the scene.
Following this incident, the total number of Palestinians killed in Gaza on Sunday rose to six. Among the dead is also a woman who succumbed to injuries sustained in an earlier airstrike.
Since the ceasefire was implemented in October 2025, reports of repeated violations have continued to emerge. In these incidents, more than 580 civilians have been killed in Gaza so far, while hundreds have been injured.
The death of a minor child in Zeitoun has once again made it clear that despite claims of a ceasefire, Gaza’s civilians—especially children—continue to live under insecurity and violence.
