Warsaw: Poland has underscored the growing importance of its relationship with India, with Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Radosław Sikorski describing ties with New Delhi as one of the central directions of Warsaw’s engagement in Asia.
Speaking during his annual address outlining the priorities of Polish foreign policy, Sikorski emphasized that strengthening cooperation with India is a strategic focus for Poland. He noted that the anticipated conclusion of free trade negotiations between the European Union and the Government of India is expected to unlock significant economic opportunities.
The minister also highlighted the planned signing of a Security and Defence Partnership between the two sides, which he said would further deepen bilateral and multilateral cooperation. According to Sikorski, these developments will enable Poland and its European partners to derive new benefits from their expanding relationship with India.
The remarks signal Warsaw’s intent to reinforce political, economic and security engagement with New Delhi as part of its broader strategy to strengthen partnerships across the Asian region.
