AMU Professor Selected for FAIMER Assessment Institute; Paper Accepted at International Conference

ALIGARH : Prof Saira Mehnaz, Department of Community Medicine, Jawaharlal Nehru Medical College, Aligarh Muslim University (AMU), has been selected for the FAIMER® Assessment Institute Pilot programme – Monash, conducted in collaboration with Monash University Malaysia.

The highly competitive international programme focuses on competency-based medical education, particularly assessment, programmatic evaluation and clinical teaching practices. Her selection recognises her contributions to medical education and her role as Co-coordinator of the Medical Education Unit.

In addition, Prof Mehnaz’s research paper titled “AI-Augmented Evaluation and Longitudinal Improvement of a Medical Foundation Course: A Mixed-Methods Educational Intervention Study” has been accepted for oral presentation at the Monash Malaysia–MAEMHS International Conference on Health Professions Education 2026.

The training programme, scheduled in April, will provide advanced exposure to outcomes-based education, work-based assessment and feedback practices, further strengthening academic and institutional capabilities.

Prof Uzma Eram, Chairperson, Department of Community Medicine, congratulated Prof Mehnaz and said that the achievement reflects the growing academic excellence of JN Medical College and AMU at the global level.
