France-India Partnership Strengthens Disaster Preparedness in Himachal Pradesh

Kullu, Himachal Pradesh: A visit was conducted to the District Emergency Operations Center in Kullu along with the Deputy Commissioner to review disaster preparedness and response mechanisms in the region.

The Himachal Pradesh Disaster Risk Reduction & Preparedness Program, financed by the French Development Agency (AFD – Agence Française de Développement), highlights the growing cooperation between France and India in the areas of resilient infrastructure, early warning systems, and climate adaptation. The initiative aims to strengthen the state’s capacity to manage natural disasters and build long-term climate resilience.
