Dr B.R. Ambedkar Hall at AMU Hosts Annual Function 2026

ALIGARH, Dr. B.R. Ambedkar Hall, Aligarh Muslim University, celebrated its Annual Hall Function 2026 with enthusiasm and active participation of students, faculty members and distinguished guests.

Welcoming the guests, Provost of the Hall, Prof. Mohammad Tariq, highlighted the achievements of the hall and appreciated the contributions of wardens, residents and staff members in maintaining its academic and residential environment.

Delivering the keynote address, Chief Guest Prof. Amar Pal Singh, Vice-Chancellor, Dr. Ram Manohar Lohiya National Law University, Lucknow, underscored the importance of combining rigorous research with ethical values in legal education. He urged students to pursue academic excellence while upholding professional integrity.

Special Guest Ms. Iram Majid, Director, Indian Institute of Arbitration and Mediation, New Delhi, shared her professional experiences and encouraged students to develop expertise in alternative dispute resolution mechanisms and emerging areas of legal practice.

Addressing the gathering, Dean of Students’ Welfare, Prof. Mohammad Athar Ansari, and Finance Officer, Mr. Noorus Salam, appreciated the vibrant academic culture of the hall and encouraged students to continue striving for excellence.

A highlight of the programme was the release of the inaugural Hall Newsletter. Members of the editorial team, including Mr. Mohd Imran and Dr. Mehdi Hayat Shahi, participated in the unveiling ceremony, while Dr. Mehdi Hayat Shahi spoke about the significance of the publication.

Mr. Shuja Hasan Khan, Senior Hall, presented the annual report, while Mr. Hammad Khan, Senior Food, proposed the vote of thanks.

The programme was conducted by Mr. Mohd Shahran, In-Charge, Organising Committee, along with student anchors Mr. Shashwat Dubey and Mr. Ghufran Ahmad.
