ALIGARH, Prof. Aamir Riyaz, Chairperson, Department of Philosophy, Aligarh Muslim University, delivered an online lecture on Spirituality in the Workplace: A Sufi Perspective at a programme organized by the Centre of Central Asian Studies, University of Kashmir, with support from the Indian Council of Philosophical Research (ICPR).
In his lecture, Prof. Riyaz explained the basic concepts of Sufism and spirituality, describing Sufism as a psycho-physical approach to understanding human existence and well-being. He discussed secular, philosophical and religious perspectives on spirituality and highlighted the relevance of Sufi principles in addressing contemporary social and personal challenges.
Emphasizing the transformative potential of spirituality in professional and personal life, he argued that the values of Sufism can contribute significantly to resolving many of the crises and sufferings faced by modern society.
The session concluded with an interactive discussion in which Prof. Riyaz responded to questions from participants.
