France, India CDS Hold Talks, Reaffirm Strong Defence Ties and Strategic Partnership

France’s Chief of Defence Staff General Fabien Mandon met his Indian counterpart, General NSR Subramani, to discuss the growing defence cooperation between the two countries.

During the meeting, General Mandon highlighted the strong bond of trust between the French and Indian armed forces, which has been strengthened through regular joint military exercises in the Indo-Pacific region.

He also underlined the dynamic cooperation between France and India, driven by their strategic proximity and shared interests. The bilateral relationship has been elevated to a Special Global Strategic Partnership, reflecting the two countries’ common ambition to further deepen defence and strategic ties.

The meeting underscored the growing importance of France-India military cooperation and their commitment to working closely together for peace, stability and security in the Indo-Pacific.
