Trivandrum hosted a day-long chess tournament for students and schoolchildren on July 20 as part of the World Chess Day celebrations.
The event was organised by the International Russophile Movement with the support of the Office of the Honorary Consul of Russia in Trivandrum, Ratheesh Nair, and the International School of Chess.
More than 100 young chess players participated in the tournament, highlighting the growing interest in the game among students and promoting chess as a platform for developing strategic thinking and fostering India-Russia cultural ties.
