Gaza, Nearly 1,400 Palestinians have been killed in Gaza since the ceasefire came into effect in October 2025, according to figures released by the Gaza Health Ministry. The ministry said 834 bodies have so far been recovered from under the rubble, while search and recovery operations for people still reported missing are continuing across the Gaza Strip. According to the ministry, the cumulative death toll since the beginning of the Israeli military offensive has reached 73,914, while the total number of people injured stands at 174,952.
The Gaza Health Ministry said Israeli attacks on the Gaza Strip have continued despite the ceasefire. It reported ongoing airstrikes, artillery fire and machine-gun attacks in different parts of the territory, resulting in deaths and injuries on an almost daily basis. The ministry also accused Israel of failing to fully implement its commitments under the ceasefire agreement, particularly those related to the entry of humanitarian aid, essential supplies and logistical equipment required by Gaza’s health sector.
The continued violence, combined with restrictions on the movement of humanitarian supplies and difficulties in recovering bodies from destroyed buildings, has added to the humanitarian crisis in Gaza.
